An honest stainless steel straw review on the brand: SENNANY

First I would like to say, that this is NOT a sponsored post. I’m writing this review because I purchased the product and ended up loving it—so why not share the love? After all, friends don’t let friends buy subpar products, right?

I have been using reusable straws for a good while now. However, after some time, I came to the realization that the straws I was using weren’t the right fit for me.

Granted, they were reusable, and served their purpose. And, I wasn’t using plastic straws, which is the whole idea. But, I came to realize that not all reusable straws were created equal. I realized that straws are like an automobile—they consist of different makes and models, and each creates a different experience.

My very first reusable straw—the one I have been using up until now, was a plain stainless steel straw without a silicone tip, which eventually became an issue and prompted my decision to shop for a new one.

Drinking from a metal straw that didn’t have a soft tip created a very unpleasant experience for me—a repeated tooth injury. No matter how careful I thought I was being, I would somehow always jab the straw into my front teeth—quite an unpleasant feeling.

Thus, I decided to make a switch to a straw with a silicone tip—and it’s the best purchase I’ve made yet.

When I was ready to shop for a new straw, I went to one of my old articles that I had written earlier this year on best reusable stainless steel straws that are under $10, and ended up purchasing the SENNANY stainless steel straws with removable silicone tips. In the straw world, removable tips are also known as sleeves.

Dimensions: 8.5” long & 8mm wide

Sure enough, they were still under $10 and I went with the black stainless steel set. You can also get a set with mixed colors. The silicone tips are also various colors, which I love. These straws are very aesthetically pleasing to the eye. They’re just a really pretty straw in general.

My initial reaction when I opened up the package and saw them was “wow, these are big”! I did not expect them to be so long—but that’s also because the removable tips add to the length.

It actually ended up being perfect for my tall, reusable tumbler. It’s also perfect for thicker liquids—so I can go back and forth between water and smoothies. (If you’re looking for a smaller straw for coctails, check out the easy bites reusable coctail straws).

They come in a set of 5 and include 2 stainless steel cleaning brushes, which is really nice because most sets only come with one. I also like the bag that they came in—it’s really soft to the touch, and it’s a drawstring. So the next time I go out to eat or run errands, I’m going to take a straw or two with me.

As I mentioned previously, the silicone sleeves are removable, as shown below. I really like this feature because it makes the straws easier to clean, and I know that bacteria won’t build up in there. I can also drink my beverage without chipping a tooth, as the silicone is really soft. Plus, what I love most is that there’s no metalic after taste.

In conclusion, I am very satisfied and impressed with these straws. They’re aesthetically pleasing to the eye, there’s no aftertaste, and they’re super easy to clean and maintain. Overall, this was a great purchase, and one that I would make again.

  1. Oh I will have to check these out! I have stainless steel straws in multiple sizes, and they have rubber tips that you can put over the top, but I really like how this silicon is an extension of the actual straw and doesn’t go over the metal all the way. And I think I would like this silicon better than what I have on mine.
