Some of my favorite memories from childhood involve pretend play (also known as dramatic play). And one of my favorite pretend play games involved playing doctor with my stuffed animals.

Both of my kids have carried on that tradition and my youngest continues to do so to this day. But, although she has the pretend play instruments, it is a struggle to find pretend play paperwork—and most kids love filling out paperwork!

So I made my own! And sharing with all of you!

What Are The Benefits Of Pretend Doctor Play?

There are so many benefits of pretend doctor play! For one, it teaches both cognitive as well as emotional empathy, and second, it helps kids overcome a fear of going to the doctor.

There are also other important benefits to pretend play such as learning, thinking and problem solving abilities—in other words, all of the important skills that will be needed once your little one starts attending school!

Don’t Let A Rainy Day Ruin Your Fun! Your Preschooler Will Have A Blast With This Indoor Scavenger Hunt!

Rainy days can be a lot of fun if you have some fun indoor activities planned—like board games, arts and crafts, and my personal favorite: an indoor scavenger hunt!

Indoor scavenger hunts have always kept my kids busy during days when playing outside wasn’t an option.

How To Do A Rainy Day Indoor Scavenger Hunt

To do the rainy day scavenger hunt, the participants will need a scavenger hunt worksheet that lists all of the items they’ll need to find in and around your home.

We’ve created four (4) types of printable worksheets for four different rooms within your home (living room, kitchen, bathroom and your child’s bedroom).

The images are simple and age appropriate for 3-6 year olds.

As each item is located, you can help your child circle the item on the worksheet.

Optional Rules

To make this scavenger hunt a little more challenging, set a time limit.

You can also choose to give a participation prize regardless of the number of players involved.

How To Do A Selfie Scavenger Hunt For Birthday Parties: Free Printables Included

Give Your Teen’s Next Birthday Party An Upgrade With This Fun Selfie Scavenger Hunt!

This post contains affiliate links which may earn us a commission.

Tweens and teens are constantly taking photos of themselves, so why not put this talent to good use by hosting a selfie scavenger hunt at their next birthday party!

How To Do A selfie Scavenger Hunt

To do a selfie scavenger hunt, the participants will need their smart phones or cameras (either digital or polaroid cameras are perfectly fine because we here at Eco Mom Diaries, realize that not all kids are allowed to own a smart phone).

Each participant will also need a scavenger hunt worksheet that lists all of the items they’ll need to find in and around your home.

We’ve created two types of printable worksheets (one for indoor use and one for the backyard), so feel free to use either one—or both!

As each item is located, the participants will take a photo with the item and check it off of the list.

Optional Rules

To make this scavenger hunt a little more challenging, set a time limit. The typical tween will take forever trying to get that “perfect angle” (LOL), so setting a timer will speed things up!

You can also choose to give a prize to the winning participant (like a set of kawaii scrunchies or a cute reusable water bottle)—something that’s trending amongst teen girls these days.

You can tell participants that certain items require a silly face.
