Best Reusable Training Pants For Toddlers

The Best Reusable Cloth Underwear For Sustainable Potty Training

This post contains affiliate links which may earn us a commission.

My 3 year old just recently mastered potty training, but unfortunately, nighttime accidents sometimes still occur—and thank goodness for mattress protectors!

For a while we’ve had her in disposable nighttime diapers but eventually I decided that investing in a few reusable nighttime diapers was a better alternative.

Disposable diapers, no matter how ‘sustainable’ or ‘biodegradable’ they are, still contribute to landfill waste. Unless something is compostable and is actually placed into a compost bin with the necessary components to help break it down, it’s just going to sit on top of trash along with everything else.

Then there’s the money issue—as a society, we’re literally buying a product that we throw away the very same day. It makes much more sense to invest in a few top notch quality reusable diapers or training pants instead.

What To Look For When Buying Reusable Training Pants

When shopping for quality reusable training pants, look for an absorbent inner layer and a waterproof outer layer—because those are important features.

When I first started shopping for reusable training pants, I honestly couldn’t find very many brands that offered what I was searching for.

I also made a huge mistake. I bought what I thought were waterproof training pants, but really these are just “thick cotton” underwear that are only good for catching a tiny amount of dribble. And I purchase them because they were marketed as ”training pants” (kind of deceiving). Here is my purchase:

U0U

No, just…no.

Are these reusable cotton “training” pants super cute? Absolutely. Are they a smart buy when potty training? Absolutely not. And if you do get these, I highly recommend purchasing additional inserts to absorb the pee, because these do not—we learned the hard way.

I quickly realized that many reusable training pants are mis-advertised as waterproof —clearly they’re not—because my daughter’s pee went right through these and her bedsheets were soaking wet in the middle of the night.

I did decide to keep these though, because my daughter is tall and slender and these help keep certain pants and leggings to stay on her hips better during the day.

So what reusable training pants did I finally end up buying that are leak-proof and actually works for both day and nighttime potty training?

The Grovia My Choice Trainers.

THE GROVIA MY CHOICE TRAINER

After our disappointing experience with the “thick cotton” underwear, I decided to try something a little more “high quality“, and came across the brand Grovia, and their line of My Choice trainers reusable training underwear with a convenient pull-up design.

I ended up ordering 3 pairs—plus two additional organic cotton inserts (boosters) for extra nighttime protection (just in case).

When they arrived in the mail, my initial reaction to seeing these reusable training pants for the first time was “wow—these are really pretty”.

The colors are warm and earthy, the fabric is well sewn together and soft to the touch, and they contain snap buttons in several key areas which allow for alterations as baby grows.

These cloth training pants also contain an inner pocket with an absorbent hidden layer of hemp/cotton blend, where you can add a booster cloth for extra absorbency during nighttime.

Advertisements

Do The Grovia MyChoice Trainers Fit Comfortably?

The Grovia reusable training pants come in one size and they run small—but don’t worry, they’re adjustable!

My 3 year old is really slender (under 30 pounds) and they fit her perfectly. So for a thicker baby or toddler, I would definitely recommend purchasing at least one set of their side-flex plus panels which attach via snap buttons to the side of the trainers and comfortably expand the fit.

My daughter sleeps comfortably in these trainers and she’s excited to put these on every evening after her bath.

Great For Both Day Wear And Nighttime

The Grovia My Choice Trainers are a great way to help your little one transition from diapers to using the potty like a big kid.

They’re also great for just nighttime wear if your little one has a habit of wetting the bed.

Reusable cloth training pants are not only zero waste and environmentally friendly, but also non-toxic and help save money that can be better spent on other necessities.

So if you’re tired of spending money on disposable nighttime diapers and want a more sustainable way to potty train your little one, then I definitely recommend the Grovia My Choice Trainers.

That’s why living a sustainable lifestyle is key to instilling an eco-conscious mindset in your children—it’s the best gift you can give them.

The holidays are approaching, and many parents are opting to shop for plastic-free Christmas gifts this year.

Whether I shop for my own two children, or someone else’s, my goal is to always purchase something that’s both sustainable as well as environmentally friendly—it doesn’t matter if it’s clothing, toys or even dinnerware.

Mostly everything these days is available in eco-friendly alternatives and the purchases are worth every penny.

Why Are Eco-Friendly Gifts For Kids A Better Buy?

Whether it’s an eco-friendly toy or sustainable clothing, eco-friendly gifts for kids are simply a healthier option for both children and the environment.

Many children’s products these days are mass produced and infused with chemicals like BPA and toxic adhesives that shouldn’t make contact with anyone’s skin—let alone babies and young children.

But when you opt for products made from natural and sustainable resources, you’re ensuring that your child’s health won’t be compromised.

Non-Toxic Nail Polish Brands For Kids

A List Of Water-Based And Non-Toxic Nail Polish Brands For Kids That Are Mom Approved

This post contains affiliate links which may earn us a commission.

Little kids copy everything we grownups do—which means they want to paint their nails to look pretty just like mommy.

But, as we all know, conventional “grown up” nail polish isn’t safe for little ones to use. Nail polish is full of unhealthy chemicals and toxins that can harm your little one via fumes and accidental ingestion (kids like to put their hands into their mouth a lot). And it’s not worth risking their health and safety.

We recommend water-based nail polish instead. There are quite a few nail polish brands that make baby and kid-friendly peel-off nail polish that’s made with non-toxic ingredients and is completely safe to use.

A Little Nail Polish History

Nail color has been around for quite some time. In fact, you’ll be pretty surprised to know that the trend dates back all the to way to 3,200 BC, where the Babylonians engaged in nail painting prior to battle, in order to distinguish rank.

Likewise, the practice was used by the Chinese dating back to 3,000 BC to distinguish class and dynasty. And ofcourse, by the Egyptians.

Only, nail color wasn’t made of the same toxic ingredients that we’re familiar with today. Not even close.

Ancient nail “polish” was made from natural ingredients such as kohl (a dark powder similar to charcoal), beeswax, and plant dyes—there was no formaldehyde, acetone or sulfates.

Nail polish today, on the other hand, is formulated with harsh and harmful chemicals, animal products and embalming fluid—check out 16 of the most common chemicals used in nail polish today:

1. Formaldehyde, 2. Formaldehyde Resin, 3. Toluene, 4. Xylene, 5. Acetone, 6. Phthalates (including DBP), 7. Camphor, 8. Parabens, 9. Ethyl Tosylamide, 10. Triphenyl Phosphate (TPP), 11. Animal-derived ingredients, 12. Styrene, 13. Bisphenol A, 14. Glycol Ether of Series E (Glycol ethers derived from ethylene oxide), 15. Nonylphenol ethoxylate, 16. Sulfate

Animals are also used to create certain shades of nail polish. You know that really pretty, pearly shimmer in nailpolish? That, unfortunately, is a result of fish scales. Then you have certain colors, like red shades, which require the need for boiled beetles, and animal fat to achieve a preferred thickness.

Reasons To Use Water-Based Polish

Water based nail polish is non-toxic, hypoallergenic, and are void of harmful fumes; some are completely odorless while others contain fun safe scents. Nail polish for kids is also cruelty-free and does not contain any animal products.

Another great benefit to using water-based nail polish for kids is that most brands create ‘peel off’ formulas—which is convenient because kids like to switch up color all the time, plus, the use of a nail polish remover is not necessary!

If you’re considering purchasing water-based vegan nail polish for your child, then take a look at our recommended list of brands below!

Nailmatic

The Nailmatic nail polish brand is made in France and is water-based. Each color has its own personality, and easily comes off with a bit of soap and water—that’s especially good in case it accidentally gets on your furniture! It’s pretty, it’s cute and the packaging is adorable!

Piggy Paint

Piggy Paint is a premium water based nail polish brand for kids that moms have trusted for the last 12 years and counting. Piggy Paint nail polish is odorless and contains zero toxic chemicals—no wonder their tagline is: “as safe as mud”. It’s even safe for pregnant moms to use as well! It’s also important to note that Piggy paint, though water-based, is not a peel off polish and does require nail polish remover (which they also make and is likewise non-toxic).

10 Most Durable Wooden Homework Desks For Young Children

This post contains affiliate links which may earn us a commission.

If you want to give your kids the best advantage when it comes to academic learning, a good quality homework desk is a great investment to help a child excel.

Homework desks aren’t just for homeschooled children who participate in remote learning, they’re also a wonderful workspace for children who go to school and return home with homework assignments.

What To Look For In A Desk

Finding an age appropriate desk is important because you want your child to be seated comfortably and have their supplies within arm’s reach. The recommended homework desks in this article are perfectly suited for children ages 5-12.

It’s up to you on whether you would like to purchase a desk made of wood, metal or hard plastic, but we recommend a homework desk made out of wood. Wooden desks are more sustainable, durable, less wobbly and more inviting.

All of the recommended homework desks in this article are made of different types of wood—from bamboo to engineered wood (which is eco-friendly because engineered wood utilizes less tree material per plank).

Benefits of Homework Desks:

Promotes Concentration

Homework desks are a personal safe space that allow your child to concentrate and focus on their learning. Kids need a distraction free workspace that will help them retain what they’re learning.

Teaches Organization

Most homework desks come equipped with open and closed storage features which help your child learn to organize their learning material. It’s a great way to store writing material, books, and even a laptop while having it within arm’s reach yet out of the way to prevent clutter.

Provides Structure

Kids (and students) do best when they have structure, and a homework desk provides them with a familiar study space that belongs to them. Instead of bouncing around from doing written work at the kitchen table and reading a chapter book on the couch, a child can focus on those tasks in one area—their desk.

If a homework desk sounds good right about now and you’d like to get one for your child, then check out our 10 recommendations below!

Best Solid Wood Bunk Beds For Children

Space Saving And Fun Bunk Bed Brands For Your Children’s Room!

This post contains affiliate links which may earn us a commission.

Many parents these days are opting for bunk beds for their children’s bedrooms—even if they only have one child! And that’s because bunk beds are incredibly versatile and useful for so much more than just sleep.

But shopping for one can sometimes be overwhelming because there are so many different types!

Bunk beds can be made of metal or solid wood, and each variety has its pros and cons. But we’ll tell you why solid wood is better for your child. And just like single beds, bunk beds come in different sizes—typically twin and full.

Solid Wood Is Sturdier & Safer

When it comes to choosing a frame, you should definitely go for solid wood. That’s because solid wood bunk beds are sustainable and sturdy, won’t wobble like some metal frames can, and will withstand the test of time.

Wooden bunk beds are also aesthetically pleasing to the eye and make a room look more inviting as opposed to a bed with a metal frame. That’s why wooden bed frames are better suited for young children who naturally don’t care so much about “contemporary” aesthetics.

Perfect For Visiting Guests

Bunk beds are perfect for when you’re hosting a sleepover or need someplace for a visiting family member to sleep for a couple of days! That’s because most bunk beds have an extra ‘pull-out’ bed that you can store underneath the bottom bunk. It’s an incredibly convenient feature.

No Need For A Box Spring Mattress

A bunk bed doesn’t require a box spring mattress because a box spring is far too bulky for a bunk bed frame and can actually be dangerous. So you’re actually saving money by not having to buy a box spring—which is way more expensive than a regular mattress. And if you’d like a recommendation for an organic mattress, check out our article on the best organic mattress brand!

Bunk Beds Save Space

You could have two separate beds in your children’s room, but that takes up a lot of space that could otherwise be useful for more activities! Some bunk beds even come with storage shelves which help keep a room clutter free.

Some bunk beds even come with additional features that younger children love—like a slide, a roof and a desk to write on. All of these features are practical, functional, and best all, fun! Your child can sleep at night and pretend play during the day.

Below are our recommendations for best solid wood bunk bed brands. If any of the bunk beds below catch your eye, feel free to click on the image and it’ll take you to straight to the source!

Best Eco-Friendly Pretend Play Toys

Sustainable And Non-Toxic Wooden Toys For Fun And Healthy Pretend Play

This post contains affiliate links which may earn us a commission.

Pretend play is crucial to a young child’s development because it helps them practice emotional and social roles that they’ll have to put to use in real life; imaginative play is also a great way for children to learn problem solving skills.

Pretend play toys are basically toys that aid imaginative scenarios, which your child acts out. Some examples are pretending to be a chef and cooking with a pretend stove, or fixing a toy car using pretend play tools and workbench.

While there are many fun pretend play toys on the market, many of them are plastic, and made with toxic paint and adhesives.

Plastic toys will also never biodegrade. That’s why wooden pretend play toys are a better, more environmentally friendly choice when shopping for your child.

All of the toys in this article are sustainable, made from ethically sourced material, made with nontoxic paint and adhesives and are shipped in compostable packaging.

The brand PlanToys, for example, are made from “sustainably harvested rubberwood trees that can no longer produce latex paired with surplus sawdust chips that are thermally reprocessed to form a durable wood, and finished with E-Zero non-formaldehyde glue, and non-toxic water-based dyes”—PlanToys

The current generation of young people are more aware of environmental issues that are plaguing this planet. We have more young people speaking out against climate change, and striving to live more sustainably, which is really commendable.

Many teens and young adults have embraced the use of reusable products such as water bottles and straws to help lower their carbon footprint. Many help with organizing and engaging in community trash pick up, and a great deal help spread awareness regarding single-use plastic pollution through social media apps like Instagram, TikTok and VSCO.

A HydroFlask Reusable Water Bottle

Hydro Flask

Remember back in middle school and high school when you really had to have a certain brand because it’s what all the other kids were wearing? The same goes with water bottles these days. Everyone has to have a Hydro Flask. I’m not sure how this particular brand gained so much popularity amongst kids, but I will tell you that they have good taste. The Hydro Flask is actually one of the finest built reusable water bottles on the planet. It maintains temperature extremely well, and it’s incredibly durable. The ones with the flex handle are especially popular, and you will see kids decorating them with all sorts of decals and stickers.

Single-use plastic straws are everywhere, and chances are that your teen gets tempted to use them at school or anywhere else they go to where drinks are sold (like StarBucks). So help her combat plastic straw temptation with a reusable travel straw. I know from personal experience that deciding on a reusable straw can be pretty overwhelming. But I’ll help you out; teens are constantly on the go, so the best type of reusable straw is a collapsible one—and the FinalStraw is one excellent reusable and collapsible straw. Does the name sound familiar? That’s because you might have seen the founders of this brand on an episode of SharkTank. But aside from their popularity, these straws are functional, durable, cute and have a lifetime guarantee.

Sustainable Parenting: 10 Easy Zero Waste Swaps For Kids

Super simple plastic alternatives for kids that will help them become zero-waste warriors!

Are you on a zero-waste journey and would like to include your kids, but not sure where to begin? You’ve come to the right place! I can definitely help you out with these 10 easy zero-waste swaps that your kids can ease into.

Many parents already know about simple zero-waste swaps that their kids can make such as swapping single-use plastic straws for reusable straws and swapping single-use plastic water bottles for reusable water bottles, and that is awesome! That is already an excellent start to eco-conscious parenting that will make their kids eco-conscious adults one day.

But, there are so many other plastic swaps that not many parents know about, and I am so happy to share them with you! There are a ton of nontoxic, biodegradable and compostable items that are made especially for kids that are even cooler than their plastic predecessors, and your kids will love these plastic alternatives. Items like dental care, dinnerware, clothing and much much more.

Personally, I’m helping my kids go green, and you should too! Teaching them to live an eco-friendly lifestyle and applying the concept of minimalism and zero-waste to their lives isn’t such a bad thing—it’s a fantastic thing!
Hence, in my household, we have been making small steps to zero-waste swaps, and it’s been a successful journey thus far!

When it comes to children, it seems like all the products made for them are made out of some variation of plastic. Think about it—their toys, dinnerware, hair clips, tooth brushes, lunch boxes—it’s all plastic. And unfortunately, plastic includes chemicals that aren’t so kind to our kids’ health.

Our kids need to know that there are alternatives that are much kinder to their health, and to the Earth. Hence, below are 10 super simple zero-waste swaps that your kids can make—and they’ll enjoy the much cooler eco-friendly items!

SUPER SIMPLE PLASTIC SWAPS FOR KIDS!

Switch To Biodegradable Dental Care

Greenzla Bamboo Toothbrushes|AnPei Plant-Based Toothbrushes|ChewTab Toothpaste Tablets|isshah Natural Floss Picks

One of the easiest zero-waste swaps that kids can make is dental care! A large majority of dental care products are made out of plastic, contain plastic, and are made with harsh ingredients that can be harmful if swallowed. And it’s sad that these apply to many of kids’ dental care products as well—toothbrushes, floss picks, toothpaste—everything. But all of these are totally replaceable, and your kids won’t even miss them!

There are many toothbrushes for kids that are made from 100% plant-based compostable material—and they come in many fun shapes that encourage teeth brushing. You can also acquire compostable floss picks that likewise, are made from 100% plant based material. And lastly, non-toxic toothpaste tablets are a great alternative to toothpaste! Many toothpaste tablets come in kid-friendly flavors, like bubble-gum, and you don’t have to worry about harmful ingredients.

Switch to Shampoo Bars

Ethique Oaty Delicious| Reef Safe Shampoo Bar|Foamie Shampoo Bar| Shea Terra Organics Shampoo Bar|Ethique Conditioner Bar

Another great zero-waste swap that kids can make is bath and cleansing products. As parents, we are becoming a lot more conscious of what we’re putting on our kids—especially cleansing products, which can contain a lot of harsh ingredients and hormone disrupting chemicals. That’s why in the last year, many parents, including myself, have switched from using traditional shampoos for kids, to shampoo bars made especially for kids. And what a game changer.

Shampoo bars are made from all-natural, ethically sourced organic ingredients, take up less space, last longer and are non-toxic. They are literally so mild and gentle, that you can even use them on your newborn or a little one with skin issues like eczema. They truly are an amazing product. If you’d like to know more about shampoo bars for kids, check out my article here!

Switch To Reusable Straws

Softy Straws|Slurp|Amalka + Albert|Mood Straws|Tegion

A super easy zero-waste swap for kids is the use of reusable straws. Single-use plastic straws are everywhere—and your kids will encounter them all throughout life. So teaching them the importance of using a zero-waste straw is the best thing that you can do as an eco conscious parent. They will learn to avoid plastic straws in the future and will inspire others to do so as well!

There are so many really cool reusable straws that are made specifically for kids, and the best ones, in my opinion, are silicone (or ones that at least contain silicone tips). Metal straws can be hard on your little one’s teeth, but silicone are temperature neutral, and gentle on enamel. Many straws come in fun, bright colors with cleaning accessories, and some even change colors. For more information on the best straws for kids, see my article here!

Switch to Reusable Water Bottles

Claire’s Rainbow Bottle|OneBttl Unicorn Bottle|Camelbak|ZakDesigns Minecraft Bottle|Battle Royale

Reusable water bottles are another excellent zero-waste swap that your kids can make. Single-use plastic bottles are one of the worst offenders when it comes to landfill and ocean pollution. Not to mention the fact that plastic bottles leech harmful chemicals which actually disrupt our hormones—a huge factor to consider when it comes to our children.

Reusable water bottles are a lot cooler now-a-days than they were when we were kids. They are also much better at keeping your water colder for longer periods of time. And since many schools actually require that kids bring a reusable water bottle to school, insulation is a very important feature. Your child will love that many reusable bottles represent their style—from their favorite colors to their favorite video game.

Switch To Biodegradable Dinnerware

Webuyii Horse Set|ConsumerChampions Monkey Set|LilyPad + Little Mr. Elephant Set|Bamboo Kids Cups|WendyWu Wooden Plate Set|Stainless Steel Mug

A lot of dinnerware for kids that you see in-stores are plastic. Are they BPA free and safe to eat out of? Yes. But the problem with those is that not all of them are recyclable. And kids grow up quickly—so their preference for dinnerware sets will change on a frequent basis. With that said, ask yourself what will become of the old cups and plates once they’ve been tossed aside. Do you want something that can’t be recycled? Or would you rather have something that is biodegradable and compostable. That’s why considering a switch to eco-friendly dinnerware (which includes cups, bowls, cutlery and dishes) is a great zero-waste swap for kids.

There are a ton of eco-friendly and biodegradable dinnerware sets that your child will love eating and drinking out of. Most eco-friendly dinnerware sets for kids are made from bamboo fiber, wood or wheat and rice husks. They are also made in fun shapes and encourage your little one to eat and try new foods. If you’d like to know more about the best biodegradable dinnerware sets for kids, check out my article here!

Switch To Zero-Waste SNACK Containers

Bumkins Unicorn Sandwhich Bags|Spaceship Snack Bags|Stainless Steel Snack Containers

Snack containers are yet another item to consider when making a zero-waste swap for your kids. Most people tend to pack their kids’ snacks and lunches in resealable plastic bags. But, there are so many cute reusable options that parents can use instead. Reusable snack bags and containers are an excellent zero-waste swap when it comes to packing a lunch or on-the-go snack.

There are so many adorable reusable snack containers that are made out of fabric and are completely washable. They also contain really fun designs that kids love. Stainless steel containers are also excellent for snacks because they are durable and won’t rust!

Switch To Wooden Toys

Wooden Block City|Wooden Action Hero|Eco Bricks|Wooden Stove|Wooden Doll House|Wooden Solar Car

Plastic toys have taken over our children’s lives. And in a way they limit imaginations and result in so much clutter over time. That’s why I love toys that are made out of wood. Aside from being eco-friendly, they are simple and allow a child’s imagination to expand, and they are nontoxic—making them an awesome zero-waste swap for kids.

Blocks are the most popular type of wooden toy. But, you can also purchase a doll house made completely out of wood—tiny furniture and all. And if your child is into science, then solar robotics toys are also available (and so cool!). Even action figures can be pretty cool when they are made out of wood.

Switch To Eco-Friendly Art Supplies

Buzzy ReCycleMe Project Box|Recycled Colored Pencils|Eco-Friendly Finger Paint|Beeswax Crayons

The one thing about arts and crafts is that it’s a great way for kids to get creative and really expand their imaginations and fine motor skills. Unfortunately, partaking in arts and crafts activities also produces a lot of trash. It’s a love-hate relationship. And not a lot of crayons and other accessories are recyclable.

So how do your kids go zero-waste with art supplies? I recommend buying recycled craft material or eco-friendly material like pencil crayons instead of markers or beeswax crayons instead of plastic. You can even get entire kits made especially out of recycled items.

Switch To Home-made Snacks

Stainless Steel Popsicle Molds|Silicone Cake Pop Mold|Silicone Cupcake Molds|Stainless Steel Popcorn Popper|Silicone Granola Bar Molds

Ditch those over processed snack packs and have a blast making your own! Home made treats are the best, and you can get a ton of helpful and eco-friendly bakeware and cookware that help make some awesome treats! Plus, you won’t be stuck with wrappers that aren’t always recyclable and just add waste to landfills.

If your kids love popsicles, you can get a reusable Popsicle mold to make an unlimited amount of healthy ice pops! There are also many silicone tray molds available that can create everything from muffins and cupcakes to cake pops and granola bars! Trust me, your kids will appreciate home-made treats a lot more.

Switch To Organic Clothing

EarthHero

Brave Explorer Shirt|Divided Landscape Tee|Wild T-Shirt|Socks|Backpack

Lastly, organic clothing can indeed be a great zero-waste swap for your kids. When it comes to children’s clothing, I like taking a minimalist approach. Kids sprout quickly like weeds, and buying more than is necessary simply leads to clutter. Even most second-hand stores and donation centers won’t take certain clothing—especially if there are stains or rips.

This is why I recommend buying fair trade, durable, organic or recycled-fabric clothing as much as possible. I used to spend a lot of money on cheap clothes that got so destroyed by outdoor activities (grass stains) that I wasn’t even able to donate them. And when I threw them out, I felt horrible that most of them weren’t even compostable. You can find many stylish and organic clothes online and your kids will love the styles!

Which zero-waste swap do you think your child would love the most?

Eco-Friendly Easter Basket Ideas For Kids

How To Create An Eco-Friendly Easter Basket That Kids Will Love!

This post contains affiliate links which may earn us a small commission.

Hello moms and dads! Hopefully 2021 has been a lot kinder to you so far than last year’s dumpster fire of a year. Many holidays like Easter were celebrated in complete isolation and many first Easters were celebrated without 100% enthusiasm. Hopefully this year, we can all make up for that!

I’d like to begin by saying that it’s perfectly ok to reuse plastic Easter eggs. If you have left overs from years prior like I do, then by all means, keep reusing them! Reusing an item numerous times, even if it’s made from plastic, is a very “zero-waste” thing to do. You’re keeping a non-biodegradable item out of the landfill, and you’re saving money by not having to purchase more. So go for it! Give your kids that fun Easter Egg hunt that they deserve!

However, if you’re starting completely from scratch this year and want the most eco-friendly Easter basket ever, then that’s possible as well! And I have a lot of great Easter basket filler suggestions for you.

Eco-Friendly Easter Basket Fillers!

Wooden Hollow Eggs

Golden Cockerel

You’ve probably seen decorative wooden eggs before, but did you know that you can purchase hollow ones for Easter Egg hunts or Easter basket treats? The great thing about hollow wooden eggs such as these is that you can decorate them however you’d like and they’re reusable and eco-friendly.

Eco-Friendly Easter Basket Grass

Traditional Easter Basket grass is made from non-recyclable plastic, and is typically used as a display piece or Easter basket filler. It’s pretty, but again, it’s plastic. Luckily, there are some really cool alternatives like biodegradable Easter grass, recycled paper Easter grass and edible Easter grass. All very eco-friendly.

Make Your Own Chocolate Treats

OurAsHero

Instead of buying treats and candy, which are typically wrapped and packaged in plastic and aluminum, consider buying a silicone mold tray and make your own Easter-themed chocolates or cake pops!

EGG SHAPED Non-Toxic Sidewalk Chalk

N/C

Sidewalk chalk is timeless, and it encourages creativity and just playing outside in general. It’s even more fun when the chalk is shaped like An Easter egg, is non-toxic and dust-free!
